Terms of Use
Last Updated: September 18, 2026
Welcome to GranPal. We believe technology should make life easier — not more frustrating. These Terms of Use explain a few important things about using the GranPal website and our services.
By using this website, contacting GranPal, or scheduling a GranPal service, you agree to these terms.
About GranPal
GranPal provides patient, personalized technology assistance, education, organization, and digital support through in-home visits and other available services.
GranPal may help with things such as phones, tablets, computers, email, passwords, online accounts, printers, streaming services, photos, online forms, websites, scam awareness, artificial intelligence, new devices, and other everyday technology.
GranPal is not an emergency service, managed IT provider, cybersecurity company, financial institution, healthcare provider, law firm, government agency, or representative of the companies and organizations whose products or websites we may help you use.
Our Role
Our goal is to help you understand and use technology more confidently.
Sometimes that means showing you how something works. Other times, with your permission, we may help configure a device, change a setting, organize information, install software, navigate a website, troubleshoot a problem, or assist you while you communicate with another company.
You remain the owner and decision-maker for your devices, accounts, information, purchases, subscriptions, and online activities.
We will explain what we are doing whenever reasonably possible and encourage clients to participate in decisions affecting their technology.
Sensitive Information & Passwords
Technology assistance sometimes involves sensitive information.
Whenever practical, GranPal will ask you to enter passwords, PINs, security codes, financial information, Social Security information, or other sensitive information yourself rather than giving that information to us.
Please do not send passwords, Social Security numbers, banking credentials, full payment-card numbers, or other highly sensitive information through ordinary email, text messages, or website contact forms.
If temporary access to an account or device is necessary to provide a service, we will use reasonable care and only access information needed for the work you have asked us to perform.
GranPal does not maintain a general database of client passwords.
Permission to Work on Your Technology
By asking GranPal to work with a device, account, network, application, or service, you confirm that you own it or have permission from the owner or authorized account holder for GranPal to assist with it.
You authorize GranPal to make the changes reasonably necessary to perform the services you request.
We will seek your approval before making significant changes whenever reasonably practical.
Backups & Important Information
Technology can occasionally behave unpredictably. Software updates, aging hardware, account changes, data transfers, device failures, and third-party services can sometimes result in lost information or unexpected problems.
Before major device changes, transfers, resets, upgrades, or other work involving important information, GranPal may recommend creating or confirming a backup.
Clients are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important files, photos, documents, and other information.
GranPal will use reasonable care when working with your technology but cannot guarantee against every possible loss of data, device failure, service interruption, or unexpected technical problem.
Third-Party Companies and Services
GranPal frequently helps clients use products and services provided by other companies, such as device manufacturers, internet providers, email providers, streaming services, software companies, financial institutions, retailers, healthcare organizations, and government agencies.
GranPal is independent from these organizations unless we specifically tell you otherwise.
Third-party products and services are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, fees, security procedures, and availability. GranPal does not control and cannot guarantee the operation, security, accuracy, or continued availability of third-party services.
Government, Healthcare & Financial Websites
GranPal may help you navigate websites or technology used by organizations such as Medicare, Social Security, ID.me, healthcare providers, insurance companies, banks, or government agencies.
Our role is limited to technology assistance.
We can help you find a website, understand how to navigate it, upload a document, use an online form, adjust device settings, or understand the technical steps involved.
GranPal does not provide legal, medical, tax, insurance, investment, financial, or government-benefit advice and does not make decisions on your behalf.
When a decision or question requires professional advice or an official determination, you should speak directly with the appropriate professional, company, or government agency.
Scam & Fraud Awareness
GranPal may help clients recognize common warning signs of scams, suspicious messages, phishing attempts, fraudulent websites, and other online risks.
No person or technology service can identify every scam or guarantee that a device, account, or person will never be targeted or compromised.
Our scam-awareness services are educational and preventive in nature and are not a guarantee of cybersecurity or fraud protection.
Purchases and Subscriptions
GranPal may help you research, purchase, install, or subscribe to technology products and services.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, purchases and subscriptions are transactions between you and the third-party seller or provider.
GranPal will not knowingly enroll you in a paid product or subscription without your authorization.
Family Members & Authorized Contacts
Some GranPal clients choose to involve an adult child, caregiver, family member, or other trusted person.
We will only share information about a client’s services with an authorized contact when the client has given us permission to do so, except when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to address an immediate safety or security concern.
A family member may also arrange or pay for services for a client. Payment for a service does not automatically give that person unrestricted access to the client’s private information.
Appointments, Pricing & Payment
Current service descriptions and pricing are provided on our website or when an appointment is scheduled.
A payment card may be required to secure an appointment. Payment-card information may be processed and securely stored by our third-party payment processor rather than directly by GranPal.
Any applicable cancellation, rescheduling, membership, or service-specific terms will be provided during scheduling or enrollment.
Results
Technology problems are not always completely fixable. Hardware may fail, accounts may be inaccessible, software may be unsupported, third-party systems may be unavailable, and some issues may require another provider or specialist.
GranPal cannot guarantee that every problem can be resolved during a particular appointment.
When we cannot reasonably resolve something, our goal is to explain what we found and help identify an appropriate next step.
Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to keep the information on MyGranPal.com accurate and useful, but technology, pricing, services, software, websites, and third-party policies change frequently.
Website information is provided for general informational purposes and may occasionally become outdated.
Intellectual Property
The GranPal name, logo, website design, written materials, educational resources, graphics, and original content belong to GranPal or are used with permission.

Reasonable Use of Our Website
Please do not attempt to interfere with the operation or security of our website, gain unauthorized access to systems or information, impersonate another person, submit fraudulent information, or use GranPal services for unlawful purposes.
Limitation of Responsibility
GranPal will use reasonable care in providing its services.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, GranPal is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including third-party service outages, manufacturer defects, pre-existing device problems, malware, compromised accounts, internet outages, unsupported software, or actions taken by third parties.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to eliminate rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
North Carolina
GranPal is based in North Carolina. These Terms are governed by applicable North Carolina and federal law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as GranPal’s services evolve. The current version will always be posted on this page with the date it was last updated.
